CTCL Hosting a Webinar on Designing Better Ballots
Ballots represent perhaps the most important interaction between a government and its citizens. When these ballots are poorly designed, voters are effectively disenfranchised. Tens or hundreds of thousands of votes are lost or miscast in every election year as a result of poorly designed ballots. Through well-established best practices and guidelines on design, you can advocate for states to design better ballots ahead of the 2020 elections.
Key topics
Join us for a discussion where you will learn about:
- Common design issues with ballots and case-studies from past elections
- Best practices and guidelines on how to design better ballots
- Strategies on how to engage with election officials to make changes on the design of the ballots which will be used for the 2020 elections
Registrants will also receive a checklist for designing a better ballot, resources to provide to election officials, and the information you will need to help make the upcoming elections as accessible and equitable as possible for voters.
This webinar is cosponsored by the Center for Secure and Modern Elections, Common Cause, Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights, and State Voices. It will be moderated by Whitney May with the Center for Tech and Civic Life [bio].
