CTCL Executive Director Speaks About Election Funding on High Turnout Wide Margins Podcast
Hosted by local election administrators, Brianna Lennon (Boone County, MO) and Eric Fey (St. Louis County, MO), High Turnout Wide Margins is the nation’s leading podcast on election administration. If you’re curious how U.S. election officials and other election experts are thinking about some of the field’s most pressing topics — cybersecurity, election mail, data standards, form design, accessibility, and more — then look no further.
While you’re browsing the episodes, be sure to tune into the April 14th recording with CTCL’s executive director, Tiana Epps-Johnson, where she shares the beginnings of CTCL, our core mission, and how we met the challenges of the 2020 election cycle.
One of the ways CTCL supported election officials in 2020 was through the COVID-19 Response Grant program. When asked about the future of CTCL grantmaking, Tiana tells Brianna and Eric that adequate funding of elections is imperative. We want to lift up the stories of election officials with the hope that while places like state legislatures are calling the question about public versus private funding, that we instead focus on the core question of, “Can we make sure we’re funding elections at an adequate level?” At CTCL, our primary focus is making the case for robust, long-standing, public funding for elections. That’s our north star.
Thanks to Brianna and Eric for inviting CTCL to share what we’re up to and for creating a digital space for the elections field to stay connected year round.
