Update Your Web Presence to Keep Up with Voters
CTCL is launching a first-of-its-kind training program in building and maintaining an election website. Following the success of the election website pilot project in 2014 and online prototype testing earlier this year, we’ve created new learning opportunities for local election officials who want to build an effective, straightforward election website with a modern look and feel.
We’re offering two different learning approaches to choose from. For officials seeking in-person instruction, we offer tailored training at your election office. If you’d prefer an independent study, there’s a self-paced online course.
Currently four jurisdictions across the country have completed the training and are using our website template to publish their election information and connect with voters online. Here’s what participants have had to say about their experience building a website with CTCL:
“I would highly recommend this course to other election officials. This course helped me build a website that had all the right bells and whistles! Being able to provide voters instruction and keep them informed with deadlines by visiting one site is always beneficial [. . .]. Election officials should truly hop on board with technology and [the] Building an Election Website Course will bring you right up to speed with the do’s and don’ts.” — An anonymous election official who completed the online course
“It is a great information site for my office. I believe once the word it out it is going to save me a lot of time in my office with things such as phone calls, maps, registration questions, election questions, etc.” — Amber Moore, Election Administrator for Hardeman County, TN
